10 Hashtags For Recruiters To Use

Working On ComputerHashtags are one of the best ways to boost engagement on social media.

It actually surprises me how little brands use them.

In fact, there are two things I recommend for getting more engagement on social media. They’re both basic and simple in theory, but for some reason not all that common…unless you’re one of the big time influencers on social media.

The first is quantity.

The second is hashtags.

Go ahead and check an influencer on social media. Not one that was a celebrity before they jumped on the platform. One that built it on the platform.

Odds are nearly 100% that they post often and use hashtags.

Anyway…here are the best hashtags to use for your recruiting firm.

Quick List

  1. #Leadership
  2. #Success
  3. #Career
  4. #Work
  5. #Love
  6. #Life
  7. #Job
  8. #Hiring
  9. #Tips
  10. #’Industry’

1. #Leadership

Big opportunity here. Lots of people following. I see a few of the top recruitment agencies using this one, but it’s not utilized enough. This one would be especially important if you’re working with executives or even folks with high business ambitions. Those that want to be leaders. They’re looking for all kinds of opportunities including learning opportunities.

2. #Success

Very similar to #leadership. Those that want to be leaders obviously are interested in success. This one can be tied directly to job opportunities, but also to articles, videos and other types of content. You can use this hashtag with just about anything you share on social media.

Here’s a key tip for using hashtags, the hashtag can be relevant to what you’re sharing, but also who you’re sharing it for.

3. #Career

Pretty obvious one here. Again, it’s about what the person is looking for with this hashtag. But this doesn’t have to be just about sharing career opportunities. You can use this hashtag when sharing tips, articles, videos, podcasts and more. Anything that relates to a person’s career.

4. #Work

Pretty big one here. Could be higher on the list, but definitely look to use this one with most of the content you share on social media.

5. #Love

You might be wondering why this one makes sense…especially for a recruiter looking to engage with workers. Well, this is one of the most popular hashtags on all social media channels. That’s important. It’s also important and relevant because it is so versatile. Maybe don’t overuse this one, but don’t overlook it either. Share a case study of a client that loves their job. Them with a big smile on their face. They’re obviously in love.

6. #Life

Maybe not the most obvious one to use, but the more you think about it the more important a great career is for life. Lots of potential uses for this one. In fact, you could probably use it for 99% of the posts you publish on social media.

7. #Job

Obvious one here. Mostly when posting job opportunities or about specific jobs. But you could also use it for a few other types of content. Job tips. Job case studies.

8. #Hiring

Another pretty obvious one here. It’s surprisingly popular. You can imagine someone looking or a new career following this one. If you want their attention, use it.

9. #Tips

This one is pretty useful for a wide variety of industries. People are online looking for information. They’re looking for answers to questions. Tips are often answers to questions. When you provide answers to questions, use this hashtag to increase your reach.

10. #’Industry’

Whatever industry you specialize in, use that hashtag. Could be #Business or #Executive or #Technology or any number of things.

Use these hashtags with most of what you share on social media. Don’t be afraid to use multiple. People don’t seem to get upset even if you use as many as 10 or so with each post. Try it out. If you get negative feedback then go back to using just a few. But what you’ll probably find is that engagement with each post increases and your follower count will increase as well.
